Sanju Samson’s childhood coach broke the silence after being ignored

There is a debate between Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson over who is the best wicket-keeper batsman in Indian cricket these days. The fans of these two players are divided. Critics of Rishabh Pant say that he has got enough opportunity to prove himself in the T20 format.

But he couldn’t do justice to the place. On the other hand, Sanju’s fans say that injustice has been done to him. In this episode, Sanju Samson’s coach himself has his reaction, but his perspective is different from everyone else’s.

Sanju defends Samson’s coach Rishabh Pant

In fact, Rishabh Pant is being called very bad on social media for ignoring Sanju Samson. Currently, this left-handed batsman is struggling to score runs. Due to which Rishabh is taking Sanju’s place in the team.

Samson missed the T20I tour of New Zealand and was dropped after one match in the ODI series. The fire spread further after this, while Sanju Samson’s childhood coach Biju defended Rishabh Pant on the matter, saying,

“What is happening on social media, because of which people have turned against him (Rishabh Pant) for no reason. Pant is in the team because he has done well for a long time, see there is no competition between Pant and Sanju Samson. Samson is playing and can only play for India as a batsman.

What do Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson’s stats say?

Here's why Rishabh Pant is preferred over Sanju Samson in T20 cricket

Rishabh Pant was given the opener’s place due to the excellent performance of the batsmen in the middle order during the tour of New Zealand. But despite that he could not run as expected. Surprisingly, players like Shubman Gill, Sanju Samson have to sit out due to him.

Talking about Rishabh’s statistics in T20I so far, he has scored only 974 runs in 67 matches. That too with a disappointing strike rate of 125, his place is clearly in question. On the other hand, Sanju scored 179 runs at a strike rate of 158 in just 6 innings in 2022. If he is given a consistent opportunity in Team India, his stats could be better. The player, who made his debut in 2015, has played only 16 T20I matches.
