Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav has been putting pressure on the Congress ever since he returned from Chennai. He shared pictures of women sitting on the ground and hinted that his party might contest the Amethi polls. Note that the Samajwadi Party usually does not field candidates from Amethi and Rae Bareli, where members of the Nehru Gandhi family contest elections. But he has put pressure on the Congress by hinting to contest from Amethi. In fact, the SPO wants to create pressure that the Congress will agree to fight in very few seats if the alliance is formed.
