Manik Saha takes oath of government: In Tripura, the Council of Ministers led by Manik Saha today took oath of office and secrecy at Vivekananda Maidan. Manik Saha is the Chief Minister of the state for the second time in a row. Ratan Lal Nath, Pranjit Singh Roy and Santana Chakma were sworn in as Cabinet Ministers in Tripura.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president JP Nadda were also present at the swearing-in ceremony. These leaders had already reached Tripura to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the BJP-led government.

BJP won 32 seats
In 1988, the Congress-TUJS formed the government in Tripura defeating the Left, but this alliance lost to the Left in 1993. In the 60-member Tripura Assembly, the BJP won 32 seats, while its ally, the Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT), bagged one seat.
CPI(M)-Congress boycott
Rakhal Majumder, a senior Left Front leader, said that the opposition Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) and Congress have decided to boycott the swearing-in ceremony of the BJP-IPFT government to protest the post-poll violence. State.
