Government of Karnataka will implement OPS for employees joining service after 2006. The state government has constituted a committee of three members for this.

Karnataka is a BJP ruled state Old Pension Scheme (OPS) is considering recovery. The state government has constituted a committee to implement OPSK. There are three officers including additional chief secretary in this committee. This three-member committee will visit Rajasthan on March 25 and understand the implementation of OPS.
If OPS is implemented in Karnataka, it will be the first BJP-ruled state. According to official sources, the state government has formed a committee for the demands of the employees. This committee is headed by Additional Chief Secretary. This committee will collect data on implementation of tax OPS during Rajasthan.

Sources said the Karnataka government will implement OPS for employees who joined the service after 2006. The committee will visit five states, including Rajasthan, where OPS has been implemented. According to sources, this committee will go to Rajasthan first. Chief Secretary Usha Sharma, Finance Secretary Akhil Arora and Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Kuldeep Ranka will be met here.

Rajasthan government restored OPS in April 2022. So far around 650 pensioners have started getting its benefits. At the same time, the state government is arranging for deposit of money withdrawn by retirees between January 1, 2004 and March 31, 2022. Let us tell you that elections will be held for a total of 224 seats in the Karnataka Assembly in the coming month of May. BJP can play big to please state employees.
