INS Vikramaditya, INS Vikrant: Navy has already delayed INS Vikramaditya and now there may be some delay in getting INS Vikrant. INS Vikramaditya will begin landing and flight tests this month. After that it will be ready for sea operations. Not only this, it is also being said about INS Vikrant that it can be fully ready for the battlefield only after the monsoons.

Media reports said the meeting of naval commanders discussed the combat posture of aircraft carriers, while the landing of fighter jets such as MiG-29 and Tejas-M at INS Vikrant. It is believed that in the coming years, new warships equipped with GE-turbine engines are poised to dominate the Indo-Pacific region, along with fighters and anti-submarine warfare helicopters.

Expected to be formally incorporated soon

According to the report, INS Vikrant is undergoing sea trials to fully land on the battlefield and it is said that INS Vikramaditya will be handed over to the Navy after March 15. Fighter test landing and take-off in this regard will start soon. The 45,000-tonne warship, with landing MiG-29 fighter jets, could be officially inducted into the Navy before May 2023.

The government will also have to decide on the acquisition of fighter jets.

After these two aircraft carriers are ready for the battlefield, the Narendra Modi government will also have to decide on the acquisition of 26 fighters including eight trainers for INS Vikrant. While America’s Boeing Company is planning to manufacture the F-18 fighter jets in India, India may have the Rafale-M fighter jets as another option, which work almost like the Rafale fighter jets. Two jets of this series were also tested in Goa and a final decision will be taken by the Department of Military Affairs as directed by the government.
