Weapons and drugs are being delivered to India through drones

Let us tell you that there have been many incidents in the past where drones have been used to deliver drugs, weapons or money to India from the Pakistani side. Recently, an all-women squad of the Border Security Force (BSF) shot down a drone carrying 3.1 kg of drugs that crossed the border from Pakistan in Punjab’s Amritsar district, foiling a cross-border drug smuggling plot.

Officials said BSF personnel spotted the drone entering Indian territory near Chaharpur village, about 40 km north of Amritsar city, on Monday night. He said that two women constables of 73 battalion fired 25 shots at the drone at 11:55 pm.

He said that during the search operation, the BSF found a six-rotor (wing) unmanned vehicle hexacopter in a partially damaged condition. He said that the 18 kg drone was carrying 3.11 kg of narcotics, which was wrapped in white polythene underneath.

Alert BSF personnel have once again succeeded in intercepting a drone and thwarting a smuggling attempt, a force spokesperson said. The drone was shot down by women workers.

Meanwhile, at 10.57 pm on Monday, another drone was spotted at the Vadai Chima border outpost, an official said. He said BSF forces opened fire on the driverless vehicle, which later turned towards Pakistan.
