Ruled by an all-party government
Nagaland was also opposition-free in 2021 and was ruled by an all-party government after the NDPP-BJP’s People’s Democratic Alliance government was renamed the United Democratic Alliance (UDA). The lone opposition party NPF joined the government with 26 MLAs and one independent.

NDPP-BJP won 37 seats
And after the elections held on February 27, the NDPP-BJP won 37 seats in the 60-member assembly. He said that ‘since most party MLAs have submitted their letters of support to the government, who knows when our opposition-free government will be formed. Currently, we are comfortable with 37 seats.

Eight teams won
At least eight parties have won the recently held elections, four of which are from outside the Northeast. Sharad Pawar’s NCP, which is the third-largest party with seven MLAs after the BJP’s 20, extended support to the Rio government. So the NPP has three MLAs and the Lok Janshakti Party-Ram Vilas and Ramdas Athwal-led Republican Party of India have two MLAs each who are with the NDA. A lone JD(U) MLA also supported the government.
