Sri Anna Conference:Prime Minister Narendra Modi Dr. inaugurated the two-day world conference on coarse grains in the capital Delhi. Apart from this, he also released a postage stamp and a coin to mark the International Millet Year celebrated this year. The government named the coarse grain ‘Sri Anna’. Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and state ministers of six countries also participated in the programme. Addressing the event, Prime Minister Modi said that he is proud that India is leading the ‘International Millet Year’. Millet is a boon for farmers.
Prime Minister Modi said, “Many countries are associated with the Millets conference. Many startups have also started in the country with millet. It is cultivated prominently in many states. He said, “The United Nations has declared 2023 as the International Year of Peace only after India’s proposal and efforts. India is leading the campaign as the world celebrates the International Year of the Millet. The Global Millets Conference is an important step in this direction.

Most of the small farmers who cultivate Shri Anna – PM Modi
PM Modi further said, “The government has worked day and night to make Shri Anna a global movement. Sri Anna means congratulations to the tribal community of the country. Sri Anna means chemical free farming. Millet is mainly cultivated here. Millet’s caffeine is visible everywhere. Most of the farmers cultivating Sri Anna are small farmers.
