Preliminary investigation suggests Ramesh committed suicide: Police

Gurugram Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Virendra Vij said the police received information from DLF The Crest Condominium on Friday that a person had died after falling from the 20th floor. Deputy Commissioner Vij said the deceased has been identified as Ramesh Aggarwal, father of Ritesh Aggarwal, founder of Oyo Rooms. Preliminary investigation revealed that he committed suicide. The apartment railing is 3.5 feet and the sudden fall looks unnatural. The body was handed over after the post-mortem on Friday.

According to the news, Sector-53 Police Station Head Constable Praveen Kumar said that the incident took place around 12.15 pm. 65-year-old Ramesh Prasad Agarwal was present at home with his wife. At around 12.15 pm he went to the balcony of his flat for some work, where suddenly his foot slipped and he fell down. Police said that people living in adjoining flats and the society’s security guard reached the spot on hearing the sound of falling down, who sent Ramesh Prasad Agarwal to Paras Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead after examination. On receiving the information, the police of Sector-53 police station reached the spot and recovered the dead body and sent it for post-mortem. The head constable said that the family members did not make any complaint against anyone in this regard.

At the same time, the family members said that they have no problem. In this regard, action has been taken under section 174 of CrPC.
