The government has withdrawn the mandatory rule of wearing masks on flights as the number of coronavirus cases has decreased. The Ministry of Civil Aviation has said that it will not be mandatory for passengers to wear masks while traveling by air. But passengers can use it at their convenience. In view of the continuous decline in the number of Covid cases in the country, the government has relaxed the mask norms.

Until now, wearing masks on flights was mandatory and there was a penalty for not doing so.  In a message sent to scheduled airlines, the aviation ministry said the latest decision on masks is based on the response to Covid-19 management.  Flight announcements will now state that passengers can use masks or face covers based on their preference given the threat of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The number of active cases remains only 0.02 percent of the total cases of corona infection in the country.  According to the latest official data, the recovery rate of corona patients has increased to 98.79 percent.  The number of recoveries from corona infection in the country has reached 4,41,28,580 and the death rate has been seen at 1.19 percent.  In the last 24 hours, 501 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in the country, taking the total number of cases to 4,46,66,676.  At the same time, the number of patients under treatment decreased from 7,918 to 7,561.

The number of active cases remains only 0.02 percent of the total cases of corona infection in the country. According to the latest government statistics, the recovery rate of corona patients has increased to 98.79 percent. The number of recoveries from corona infection in the country has reached 4,41,28,580 and the death rate has been seen at 1.19 percent. In the last 24 hours, 501 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in the country, taking the total number of cases to 4,46,66,676. At the same time, the number of patients under treatment decreased from 7,918 to 7,561.

The death toll rose to 5,30,535 after two more patients succumbed to the infection, according to updated data released by the Union Health Ministry at 8 am on Wednesday.  One of these patients is from Gujarat and one from Rajasthan.  So far, a total of 4,41,28,580 people have been cleared of infection in the country, while the death rate from Covid-19 is 1.19 percent.
