Union Minister Piyush Goyal on Friday said the Mega Textile Park will be set up at a cost of Rs 4,445 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Mitra Yojana. He said that 2 million people will be directly and indirectly employed from these mega parks. These textile parks will be set up in Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
The plan was approved in 2021
The Union Minister told a press conference that for setting up the state-of-the-art infrastructure of these mega textile parks, domestic and foreign investment is estimated at around Rs 70,000 crore. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday announced that Pradhan Mantri Mitra Mega Textile Parks will be set up in seven states.

After the Cabinet meeting, Union Commerce and Industry and Textiles Minister Piyush Goyal said there is a lot of enthusiasm in the textile sector.
The focus will be on production and exports
Piyush Goyal said the move is inspired by PM Modi’s 5F vision. This 5F vision includes Farm to Fiber to Factory to Fashion to Foreign. The government said that world-class infrastructure will be developed in this. 21 lakh jobs will be created in the textile sector through this project. This includes 7 lakh direct and 14 lakh indirect projects. This project will lead to growth in manufacturing and export oriented. The government said that under the PM Mitra scheme, rotating in one place,The work will be done from weaving, processing, dyeing and printing to fabric making.
The government said the Mitra parks will be built on greenfield or brownfield sites located in different states. 500 crore assistance will be provided for the development of all Greenfield Mitra Parks.
