The Kia Sonet CNG is expected to be launched by June this year. Along with this, Kia is also testing CNG models of Carens MPV and Seltos SUV.

Kia India In 2023, it may launch the CNG version of its popular SUV Sonet. The Kia Sonet CNG was recently spied testing in Pune. A sticker is also seen on the spotted model, which has been tested by ARAI.
The Kia Sonet CNG will be modeled after the existing Sonet model in the Indian market. That means the design and features of the upcoming CNG vehicle will be similar to the Sonet petrol.

Kia is currently testing the Sonet X-Line CNG variant. Emission testing equipment is installed in the boot of the Sonet CNG. According to reports, it will get a 1.0 liter turbo petrol engine. The regular Sonet model gets a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine. This engine generates 118bhp of power and 172Nm of peak torque. However, its power and torque output may be lower in CNG mode.
The Sonet CNG SUV is expected to be offered only with a manual gearbox. On the other hand, the X-Line petrol model gets a 7-speed DCT option. Also, this SUV can be had with 1.2L 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol and 1.5-litre turbo diesel engines.

Brezza CNG and Nexon CNG will compete
We tell you that during the Auto Expo 2023, Maruti Suzuki launched the Brezza CNG. At the same time, Tata Motors is preparing to bring CNG model of Nexon. Tested many times. These two CNG SUVs are expected to enter the Indian market soon. After launch, the Kia Sonet CNG will compete with the Brezza CNG and the Nexon CNG.
We tell you that Tata showcased the Punch and Altroz with twin-cylinder CNG systems at the Auto Expo. The same setup can be found in the Nexon CNG as well.

The Sonet CNG is expected to be priced around Rs 1 lakh higher than the existing petrol model. Currently, the starting price of Kia Sonet in the Indian market is Rs 7.69 lakh. These prices are ex-showroom.
